Sheriff Dwayne Price graduated from the Kentucky State Police Academy in February 1987. During his career as a trooper, Sheriff Price received many accolades for his work and bravery. In 2001, Sheriff Price left the road as a trooper and became a KSP detective. While a KSP detective, he solved several old cases including two murders. He also was responsible for the arrest and successful prosecution in Martin County’s only death penalty case. Sheriff Price also was the arresting and investigating officer in a federal case in Johnson County that involved the theft of hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars whereas both suspects were convicted in federal court. Sheriff Price retired from the Kentucky State Police with 24 years of service.
Sheriff Price resides at Staffordsville Kentucky with his wife, Nancy, of 26 years and their daughter Kayla who is a student at the University of Kentucky.
